I’m interested in finding church records for my grandfather who was born in 1895 in Gioiosa Marea, Italy.I am not sure where to begin to obtain this information.
I am researching the family name of Toto. My wife’s grandfather was Francesco Toto from Santo Stefano di Gioiosa Marea. I have recently come across documents where his name is recorded as Toto Cappadona. Is this the true surname of the family? There seem to be other relatives of his that just use the Cappadona name, where he seems to have shortened his to just Toto. Are there other members of that family still in Gioiosa Marea. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.
My Mothers name was Corso, my Grandfather was Rosario Corso. My Grandmother was Santa Corso and I think her maiden name was Bongiovani. If anyone has any knowledge it would be a big help. We lived in New Jersey.
We have been doing extensive family research and will be traveling to Giosiosa Marea and Patti in the fall to see if we can fill in some of the holes in our research. Specifically this has to do with timeframe between 1885-1915 under the names of Valeriano, Sidoti and Ciccarello.
